Bláthnaid and Dáire married in the summer of 2019
A quote, to start off with - from Photographer Claire's Blog about the big day;
The theme of the wedding was inspired by the décor of the house and by Bláthnaid’s Romona Keveza cherry blossom dress. “My name, Bláthnaid, means ‘blossom’ as Gaeilge. When I found the dress with my mother at Kleinfeld it was also cherry blossom season in New York, we knew it was meant to be! The design and craftsmanship in silk organza was so incredibly special and with my love of fashion, I feel like “she” had a life all of her own and we’ve called her Blossom ever since!”
And didn't that gorgeous dress steal the show. Blá floated on cloud nine all day... and the way that dress moved was just dreamy.
A gorgeous Spring day was specifically planned by the couple, to take advantage of the gardens at Gloster House. The beautiful Magnolia trees were in bloom - and as she stood next to them for the post-ceremony photo-shoot - the branches themselves seemed to acknowledge that they paled in the presence of the beautiful bride.
But, obviously, the Ceremony is our main focus... Blá and Dáire were very specific in their initial plans for the ceremony with their two definite "must have's" were; Outdoors and the celebration of their families.
They also wanted to celebrate their Irish heritage, and so chose to include as the main element of the ceremony was a Celtic Hand-Fasting. This beautiful unity ritual, being the origin of the term "tying the knot" was also doubly significant - as it was how we included the couple's immediate families - their parents and Bláthnaid's Grandmother
Plus a Gaelic wedding Blessing read by Blá's brother.
The ceremony was just a mass of love, laughter, smiles and creating beautiful memories for Dáire and Bláthnaid. As you can see by the photos - they never stopped smiling through-out.
